Frequently Asked Questions
For Buyers
Q: How do I contact a seller? Click the WhatsApp button on any listing to message the seller directly. All communication happens between you and the seller — no middleman involved.
Q: Is GlamMarket free to use? Yes. Browsing listings and contacting sellers is completely free, always.
Q: Are listings verified? We review all listings before they go live. That said, always use your own judgment when buying — if something feels off, trust your instincts and reach out to us.
Q: What if a seller does not respond? Try contacting another seller with a similar listing, or reach out to us at support@glammarket.co.za and we will do our best to assist.
For Sellers
Q: How much does it cost to post a listing? Posting is completely free. Your listing stays live for 30 days and you can post as many listings as you like.
Q: Can I list multiple items in one listing? We recommend posting each item as its own separate listing so buyers can find and price individual items easily. Since it is free to post, there is no reason not to.
Q: What can I sell on GlamMarket? Clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty products, and beauty services. Each category has subcategories to help buyers find exactly what they are looking for.
Q: What is a Featured Listing? For R99 your listing is pinned to the top of search results with a red FEATURED badge for 30 days. It is optional but recommended if you want more visibility quickly.
Q: How do buyers contact me? Buyers tap the WhatsApp button on your listing and message you directly. Make sure your WhatsApp number is correct when posting — include your country code, for example 27821234567.
Q: Can I edit my listing after posting? Yes. Log in, go to your dashboard, and you can edit or delete any of your active listings at any time. Please note that edited listings may be reviewed again before going live.
Photo Guidelines
Q: Do I need to upload photos? Yes. Listings with clear photos get far more views and enquiries. We recommend at least 2–3 photos per listing.
Q: What photos should I upload for clothing? At least two of the following: the item laid flat on a clean surface, on a hanger, being worn, or a close-up of the fabric, label or any details. Photos of items being worn perform best with buyers.
Q: What photos should I upload for beauty products? Show the product on a clean neutral background with the label clearly visible. Include sealed packaging where possible, and a colour swatch for items like lipstick or eyeshadow.
Q: What photos should I upload for beauty services? Upload portfolio shots of your actual work — finished makeup looks, nail art, braid styles, before and afters. Your workspace photo also helps buyers trust that you are a real professional.
Q: Can I use photos from other websites? No. Only upload photos you have taken yourself. Using images copied from other websites violates copyright and your listing may be removed without notice.
Q: What makes a good photo? Good natural lighting, a clean simple background, multiple angles, and no heavy filters. Show any flaws honestly — buyers appreciate it and it avoids disputes after contact.
